Well I THOUGHT I would be mailing this today.
I went to a postal store because the USPS was closed. The barely intelligent gap toothed convict there "helped" me out, took about 10 min to type in the address. Charged me $15 for the post, envelope, and the priority mail status.
He printed it all out and then started to take the addresses and my envelopes (I didn't seal the inner envelope because its supposed to be in the larger envelope that would be sealed) and walk away before that outer envelope had been sealed. I told him, hey can we just seal that envelope? And he proceeded to tell me how he always does things a certain way and that there's a tracking number and on and on, and I just said again, look, I just want to make sure the envelope is sealed up before I leave. So then, instead of sealing the envelope he proceed to start putting the address stickers on it, complaining about how he normally does things some certain way and then once the address and other things are attached to the envelope he starts to walk away again. The envelope is not sealed. At that point when i bring it up again he just says for me to take it, i've already paid, if I want to do things my way go ahead and do things my way.
I was so done with this guy now I just left with my envelope. I'm not going to leave it anywhere where he can get to it. I look at it and see, he spelled Concealed wrong, and made weird abbreviations, and was missing information from the address as well. "Concealed Handgun Licensing Program MSC 0245" is too long apparently. He spelled it "Conceales Handgun Lic Safe Prog MSC"
So the address on it reads:
Texas Department of Public Safety
PO Box 4087
Conceales Handgun Lic Safe Prog MSC
Austin TX, 78773

Think thats good enough to make it there?
I am pretty upset about that guy's attitude. I just wanted to SEAL the envelope so somebody can't just come along and open it up, there are important documents in there! Now I'm glad he gave me attitude, I finally got to see that the address was screwed up!

I'll probably have to send my wife to the post office on Monday and just have her start all over with the process. I'd rather burn 15 freeking dollars then roll the dice that this chicken brain did everything correctly.
Seriously, not the way I wanted to start the weekend.
Sorry for the rant. I can only tolerate stupid people to the extent that they don't interfere with my ability to get what I need to get done.

You might have a little chat with the Postmaster about attitude, customer service, and competency (not necessarily in that order).

FYI, you don't need to use a large envelope. Get a letter sized security envelope and another smaller one. Put your photos in the smaller security envelope, then put everything into the larger security envelope. You write everything down so it's just as you want it. (That way if there's a mistake, it's your fault. ) Then you just pay for the shipping when you take it in. ;-)

USPS says my application was delivered yesterday!
DPS doesn't show they have it but I think thats expected only being one day since it was delivered.

I ended up having my wife take the package to a real post office ( the other place was a "mail center" type place). The real post office worker said the postage was missing!!! and she fixed the address and got it postaged up right, and there it was only $8.

A little Steve Miller Band for you while you wait. Maybe it will help time slip into the future a little faster.

This music is going to put me to sleep at work here... I better turn that off. 3pm is hard enough without anything to add to the energy drain! *YAWN*.
