Hello Everyone,
I just recently found these forums because I've suddenly realized that I am probably the most impatient person in the world ever since I mailed off my packet for my CHL. Luckily, they seem to have it in gear and everything has gone pretty fast.
7/23 - CHL Course Completed
7/27 - Fingerprinting Done
7/28 - Mailed off Packet
8/3 - Package Received
8/5 - Background Check Pending
8/8 - Manufacturing Pending
8/9 - Manufacturing
-------
At this rate, I'm crossing my fingers hoping that I'll have Plastic in the next week or so. I don't know how much longer I can wait!

Welcome chadster
Pull up a chair, use the search function to look for info on questions you have and join right in on the discussions that are active here on the forum.
We have a lot of very knowledgeable individuals here and you can really gain a lot of insight on carrying while waiting to get your official carry ticket.

Welcome chaster
I never thought of the waiting period as a good thing, but if it gets more people as forum members reading up on various things here so they are even more prepared and knowledgeable ...

Is that why some people know so much? They got their CHL when it took more than two months.

It won't be long. I believe you'll have the plastic next week. Some people even received the plastic before the status was updated.

Update
8/15 - PLASTIC!!!
My wife has just informed me that I have a State of Texas DPS envelope awaiting me when I get home from work. Heck, I'm even considering calling it a day right now just so I can go home to open it.
Guess it's time for the wally walk!
