Background --> Reviewing

I never memorized any of my previous driver's license numbers, but I now know my TX DL # forwards and backwards after entering it five times a day to check on my CHL status!
I've lived in three different states in the past 5 years (1. dependent under parents, 2. married in college, 3. moved to TEXAS for grad school -- all legitimate moves; not fleeing from the law or anything). Nothing on my record other than a speeding ticket and a warning. The background check for my CHL just started today, but I'm just wondering if anyone here experienced a longer background check time due to multiple recent addresses.
Thanks, and I love this forum already!
Kyle

In answer to my own question about my three moves in the past five years, the answer is apparently no, it doesn't negatively affect BG check processing time. (Or at least, if it does, it must be fairly minimal.) My BG check only took 7 business days!!
Now I just hope my holster gets here before my plastic...

Good for you. I'm like you in that I've lived in three states over five years. But I'm unlike you in that I've been in BG "Under review" for 13 days (9 business days) and counting. I know that's not long, but it feels like forever!

Welcome to the forum, Mike!
I can't help the process go faster, but I
can point out that your online status changed to BG under review the same day your packet was received, whereas my status took a good 8 days before it even showed that my BG check was in progress at all. I don't know how on-top-of-things the good people down at the CHL processing center are, but it's entirely possible that my BG check was under way for a while before my online status showed it. Pure speculation, but take it for what it's worth. And keep surfing the forum! It really takes the edge off the wait.

That's interesting to hear. After thinking about it, it's entirely possible that mine also took time to go to "under review," but that I didn't notice it because the icon (yellow triangle) didn't change. I've been paying closer attention to the color of the icon than the text. I don't suppose there is any way to see the dates on which the statutes changed?

To my knowledge, the only way you
might be able to get some dates would be to call their customer service line and ask. I would guess that most of us are patient enough to not bother them, but calls like that might annoy the living heck out of the workers anyway, so I would hesitate to take that step unless there seems to be some kind of problem. I called once during my online application process to ask a question about overlapping job dates from holding more than one job simultaneously, and the gentleman who answered was very kind and helpful, but other than that I just resolved to leave them alone and just let the process take its natural course. (In all honesty, there's a part of me that thought that they may have a "special stack" for people who seem impatient, which they may or may not get to by the time they get done processing other applications for the day...

Ha! Yeah, I won't call. I know that I've been in "Under review" since at least Monday. That's when I started watching really closely. I may call if my status doesn't change by this time next week.
