Guys/Gals - I mailed my packet on 4/16. This is what the CHL website says: "License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page."

When they receive my packet, isn't it supposed to be updated? I'm worried my packet got lost in the mail. Please give me some advice!

Relax, it takes time for them to post the first update, mine took two weeks and from what I have seen that is about the norm. Just sit back and enjoy the forum. Doing a lot of reading and research can help pass the time.

It will take a couple of weeks at minimum for them to update your status. I know how frustrating that is!

How do you know they received your packet? I noticed on the bottom of everyone's comments it only takes a few days. Does it not actually update they received it til a few weeks later? And does it show the actual date they received it?

The best way to know that they received your packet is to send it "signature required". But I'm assuming that advice is a little late.

I sent mine certified mail return receipt so I would know when they received my packet but it took them two weeks to update my status to "received" and "under review" It has been another two weeks and no additional updates. Hoping for a manufacturing update soon

Call them (512) 424-7293 When I sent in my paperwork for the CHL Instructors course there was no update for a couple of weeks and I called them and they had not been able to link my fingerprints to my application. Good Luck

My Daughter mailed her paperwork on 3/23 Her status didnt changed to received until today 4/26
