Have you called, emailed, etc?

I've called and emailed both. Monday when I called she told me to call back Friday if it hasn't changed. She told me this is normal for the wait right now. I didn't tell her that every person I took the class with received theirs 3-4 weeks ago and I was the first one to mail it in. Same county all my life and not even a ticket on my record. Doesn't sound "normal" to me. I'm definitely in the slow stack!

I'm glad DPS reads the forum because they'll be interested in the comment about the waiting period. DPS was at the Texas Firearm Instructors Conference on April 27th and they confirmed that applications were being processed in about 30 days, unless there is a problem like something missing. Yes, there can be exceptions, but a 72 day processing period absolutely is not the norm. I have students emailing me and advising that they have received a new CHL in as little as 3 weeks and I think the longest time I've had reported recently has been 50+ days.

You may want to send another email. The information you were given was wrong.

I emailed them last week and got the standard response that they do not consider it past due until after 60 days. Since you are well past the 60 day mark I would call them back and/or email them again. Maybe ask for a supervisor is you get the same response.

I called them yesterday morning and informed them that its day 62. The gentleman looked up my info and said yes, it is overdue and he would send an email to the necessary department and they will push it through. Checked first thing this morning and after ~46 days in BGC, my status has changed to "Manufacturing Pending".

Thanks for the heads up. I called again today and spoke with a different person. This guy actually helped me. The told me "someone forgot to push the button" and he would send an email and get it going. Said I should have it in about a week. We'll see! I'll post when the status changes.

Mine took 84 days mail box 2 mail box .. I hold the recoerd for 2012 so hang in there ,, "Balk-a-nite"

Day 74 and nothing changed today.

Mine changed this morning to background complete!
