EDIT: It's in my wallet as we speak. Mailed 04AUG 24 days door to door. Good luck to the rest of y'all.
Mailed my documents in today. Fingerprints will be done on Monday. From what I hear 4-6 weeks is the normal wait time. I can handle that, I waited 6 months for my Massachusetts Class A license to Carry.

Welcome! Read a lot while you're waiting. This is a great place to learn. I've been here a few months and gained a lot of valuable information (and a little entertainment too
) from some knowledgeable folks.

If I am not mistaking. You are supposed to send in the signed paper for your fingerprints in with your packet.
Also mine took 20 days. Mailed packet 7/3 received plastic 7/23

The FAST form does not need to be mailed in. It is simply a record for you to keep in case your file does not get to DPS.

Well you have your plastic. If I get mine in anything more than 20 days I will blame it on not sending the FAST form in.

My status updated. They have received everything and my background check is under review. That may have happened yesterday as I did not check and I'm sure they are not working on a Saturday.

I've always carried a G19 in an IWB kydex/leather holster. Very comfortable, I shoot it great, and I trust it completely. I just moved to Texas so not having it I feel naked. I will be happy once I have my plastic.

My Background check was completed yesterday. Hopefully I will have my plastic in a few days.
