Am now officially designated as one of the "good guys"! Got my plastic in the mail today! For those looking for timelines to compare here is mine:

08/17/2015: Completed online CHL application
08/29/2015: Completed CHL Class
08/29/2015: Completed fingerprints
08/29/2015: Submitted online CH-100, DD-214, and checklist
08/31/2015: Re-submitted above documents because I didn't receive confirmation email
09/01/2015: Received two (02) emails confirming receipt of my documents
09/24/2015: Called DPS to check status who said it was all approved and being printed
09/26/2015: Status changed at DPS website
09/28/2015: Received plastic in the mail!

Note: It does read "License to Carry Handgun" and has the "Veteran" designation. :txflag:

Congrats... I would have done this years ago if I knew I got a discount for being a veteran, i was expecting to spend 140 then I saw veteran price.. :clapping:

Thank you all for the kind words. It is nice that the State has recognized veterans in this case. I can't speak for all veterans but for me it is not so much about the discounted price but more about being recognized for a contribution. Thanks again!
