Post by XDandy »

I know there were a few people on here that took their class on June 9th, but I was just wondering where you guys are in the process? I still haven't recieved my confirmation or pin number and am still under the "packet mailed to applicant" status on the website.

I took my class on the 9th and mailed out my packet on the following Monday. Mine still shows Packet mailed to applicant also. I also filled out the packet on line and got my packet before taking the course so I had my pin number before even mailing it back.

If you dont have your pin number how are you able to check you online status? Its kind of needed to do that.

Sorry, I also ordered my packet online and do have my pin number. I just haven't gotten the letter with the pin number in it. Just impatient I guess. It is nice to know where you guys are though so atleast I know they hopefully didn't lose it or something.

Umm...Theres is only one PIN number that you get. They only send you the letter if you did not first fill out the online forms to get the packet. The 4 digit PIN number that is on the front page of your application that was mailed to you after you filled it all out online is the one that you use to track your status. By the sound of your post that is what you are doing. Just hang in there. Practice carrying around the house and what not. Thats what im doing. My wife is looking at like I a parnoid maniac. But what a ride it is.

Howdy All!

I mailed in the little card to DPS and received my application package in the mail before attending the class (class on June 9th). I knew nothing about the PIN until I logged into the CHL site to track my application status.

If you don't have your PIN, email the below following information to:
chl@txdps.state.tx.us

Texas concealed handgun license number
Driver license number
Full name
Date of Birth

It only took about an hour to get a repsonse back with my PIN number. And I have been checking my status, oh, about 3 or 4 times a day!!

I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas to get here!!!

Well, my status flipped this morning also... but to "Incomplete information-sending detailed letter"

I called to see if it was something I might be able to handle of the phone but it turns out I didn't sign the "web form." I'm not sure which one that is but I'm gonna be interested to find out which one it is. I quadruple checked that packet atleast to make sure I had all the signatures and whatnot. Looks like I just got an extra week or so added onto the process.

What is the Web form? My wife applied last week online and there was no Web form to sign. How long to get the mailed packet after you paid on line?

I'd say once I paid online it took around a week. I actually emailed them to get my pin just to see where it was, ha. If this whole process is teaching me anything it's patience, 60+ days for the card and 10+ weeks for a holster...

I belive the web form is the app that is pre filled out that they send you in the Packet after you do the online app. You still have to sign the last page. I know cause I almost missed it my self. That why I checked and double checked and then let some one else double check me. Then check thier checking after I checked it. I think actually sealing the Envelope to send back was the hardest part of filling it out.
