What was your entire timeline? All my paperwork was confirmed on the 12/22 and fingerprints on 12/30.

Sent in paper work the Dec 16
Confirmation from DPS Dec 18
Received CHL in Mail 2/6/2016
I paid the money for the license and filled the paperwork on about Dec 9.

With the number of people that I heard took the class in Dec I really have no complaints at all.

congrats! but I don't understand how you got yours so fast... I submitted everything and got confirmation on 12/4, I have no legal history at all, and it's now 2/9 and they still aren't finished with mine.

This makes no sense to me. I literally just got off the phone with them because I wanted to verify that my docs had been received. I sent everything via internet on 12/20. The guy just told me that they aren't even through mid December yet on STARTING anything, yet I am seeing people with plastic that applied mid December. He couldn't even verify if my docs were there. Anyone have any explanation? I am at a loss with government entities....

Let me put it to you this way... there is no rhyme or reason to what they phone operators tell you. They sound as if they are looking at a computer system, but they are not consistent. I got confirmation of docs recieved in Dec 20th, and here is a summary of my calls over the last 2 weeks:
1-27: Victor- told me my app had been sent to BG check
2-1: didn't write down the name- app has not been entered yet
2-3: Danny- App has not been entered, and not sent for BG check yet. Doesn't know why Victor would tell me otherwise.
2-5: Sherry- All docs recieved and entered. App has been sent for BG check.
2-9: Ashley- App has not been entered, and no BG check has been sent yet.

Needless to say this back and forth drives me absolutely bonkers. It seems like each person juat says whatever they want, and there is no way to know what the real status is.

I asked Ashley to have a supervisor call me. She promised that I would get a call in 24 to 48 hours. We'll see how that goes.

i hear ya, i was told back last thursday of Jan that mine was and had been in back ground check and should only be a few more days. i called yesterday and the lady told me "well i see you submitted your application on Feb 5th, please give us our 60 days"
HOLD UP, i put this thing in and got confirmation on dec 14th, she then states well our system is currently showing FEb 5th. seem to get crazy random answers with each person you talk to. I'll just wait and not call, doesn't seem to help.

1. The phone operators are not supposed to give more info than whether or not your docs are received. They are not supposed to confirm or deny whether it is on background check, printing, or any other status other than that docs are received.
2. The operators who are giving too much information are in the wrong policy wise.
3. They only count business days, not calendar days. She said that my app which was confirmed on Dec. 20th is only considered to be 36 days old.

Thanks for sharing that info. It makes sense. Well, more sense than most of the info coming from them anyway.

1/11 finger prints taken

1/31 class finished and I emailed completion certificate same day.

2/9 no other communication received from DPS.

Looks like I'll be calling tomorrow to make sure they've received everything. I'm sure I can find it but anyone want to post the number for quick reference.

60 days of business days only. That's 3 months

I am not sure but maybe because I got it so fast is that I held a MO CCW for over 5 years before moving to Texas. Maybe that had something to do with how quick I got it. I renewed my MO CCW in April 2015. Otherwise it was just luck I've only been here since the end of July.

You better check and make sure they have your CHL 100 and any supporting docs. This was my scenario. I sent everything in on 12/20. Got the application confirmation email, waited and waited on the other email that my docs were received. Called them and they said they had been received, but it was normal for it not to show up in email. Called again on 1/20 and they still didn't have my CHL 100. So sent another set in and got the email in a day or two. Long story short, I think listening to them the first time cost me 30 days. I have no way of knowing whether they got the docs or not the first time because every one of them I talk to gives me different answers. But when I call on 2/9 for something I submitted on 12/20, which by my rough calculations in my head is about 6 weeks and they say whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa it's way too early for us to know anything, is kind of irritating. Especially when I talked to someone 2-3 weeks ago and was told they are almost done with December and this new guy says they aren't even to the middle of December.
I realize they are busy, but at the end of the day, it is a "business" in the fact that I am expected to get things to them in a timely manner and I pay for the service. Which is a whole other can of worms with me. 2-300 bucks to get the right to have my rights. It's right up there with the $200 to have the "right" to own a suppressor.. Regardless, it's a government entity, so they don't have to abide to the same standards as us schmucks do on a daily basis.

I've called several times... Once or twice a week depending on my question...
1st: It's in BG check
2nd: It's in BG check
3rd: It's in BG check, it's taking 3 months
4th: It's in BG check, we have everything we need from you, we are just waiting on fingerprint acceptance from the FBI
5th: Just waiting on fingerprints
6th: Your fingerprints haven't been accepted or rejected... idk what's going on because it shouldn't take this long... i'll send this over to processing so we can get this figured out.

I submitted everything on 12/4 and got confirmation of it, but others are submitting it mid to late December and getting their plastic in January? makes no sense! I paid for a "service" if you will and should've been in line. now if something came up in background I would understand it taking a little more time, but I have good prints, I've been printed when I worked in education and those were accepted by the state so what's the hold up now?
