Re: Update: My job search
I've been where you are twice in my life. It's hard, real hard. But, this is one of those times that you truly come to appreciate a good wife...I know I do even if she doesn't know it. I recently found a contract to perm position that I hope remains permanent. My thoughts and prayers are with you.nitrogen wrote:I had some contract stuff going on for the past few months, but it's all drying up now. I still havn't found a full time job yet; and it's been over 6 months.
I thought things were picking up, of course, as soon as I did, my hours at my current contract were cut by 1/4.
I've NEVER been this long without a job; its really taxing emotionally on me and the wife, too.
I've been doing my darndist, looking everywhere I can, but for some reason, I've been extremely unlucky.
My wife and I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers; we're about needing all the help we can get at this point.
When you take the time out of your day to beat someone, it has a much longer lasting effect on their demeanor than simply shooting or tazing them.

Re: Update: My job search
Well, on friday it's official. I'm starting training for an incredibly crappy job that will have me working weekends and some mondays.
I also have a line on another job which will be muich better.
The good part is this, if I don't get the good, much better job, the "crappy" job will allow me the time to do something i've always wanted to do: Look into attending the police adacemy.
If I get the good job, then, I get the good job!
Hopefully everything works out; I'll keep you all updated.
Thank you ALL for your spiritual support; it really DOES mean a lot to me.

Congrats on the new crappy job. At least it's a job for now and it will enable you to pay bills.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that the good job pans out for you.

I am glad to hear that you finally found some work. Remember that money from a crappy job spends the same as one from a non-crappy job.
It's easier to find a job when you already have one.

Re: Update: My job search
Nitrogen - hang in there. You never know what path this might take.
A couple of years ago, I was out of work and getting pretty desperate. Took a crappy temporary contract job. (And I DO mean crappy!) But, I did it. And then they sent me on another, only slightly less crappy, contract. And when it was over, I started another contract that led to my definitely NOT crappy job now! Sometimes, the road is winding, but there IS a plan.
You know we will continue to pray for your success.
