Please pray for the New Family

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Please pray for the New Family

#1

Post by jbirdswife »

Would you all please pray for my sister's friend Shanda, and her husband Aaron. About a week ago, Aaron found out he has colon cancer. (He is 35) It has been a whirlwind and totally shocking, but basically they think it is Stage 1, which is the best-case scenaro, but it is still cancer. (Burkitt's Lymphoma)

Everything is moving very fast, but they think he will start chemo on Thursday morning. The doctor told them this is the worst kind of chemo (I don't think there is a good kind, but this one is, quoting the doctor "particularly nasty"....so it will be horrible for him to go through. He has to be in the hospital (in patient) for 5 days....then home for 2 weeks and then back to the hospital again for the next treatment. He will have to do that "cycle" 8 times. They have a long road ahead of them.

They have three sons- Parker is 5, Tanner is 3, and Cooper is just two months old.

My sister is just heart-broken for them, even though she says they have both been amazingly strong and trusting God with all this.

Would you please pray for them? Ask God to meet their every need and be with them through the pain and struggle.

If you want to get updates or check on how they are doing, Aaron has a blog. It is http://www.newunderthesun.blogspot.com

I know the power of prayer has helped so many of us who are a part of this amazing group of people. It is my prayer that the New Family will be able to experience that as well! Thank you so much!

I just prayed and I will lift him up in the future!

I absolutley hate cancer! My grandfather passed away several years ago due to colon cancer (he hated doctors and refused to get checked - until it was too late) and now my dad went through radiation treatment for his prostate cancer just recently...
