Passing of Member b322da

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Passing of Member b322da

#1

Post by Glockster »

I'm very sad to report that one of our members and my friend, Jim (b322da), has passed away. I just heard from his wife a few minutes ago that he passed on 11/18/15 and will be laid to rest in Arlington. Jim was a retired Coast Guard officer, retired US Diplomatic Corps and a retired attorney. I will always remember his love for his Smart car and for guns and gun rights.

I am very sorry to see this.

He reached out to me a few months ago regarding my lung disease. We carried on a brief but gratifying private correspondence, sharing his experience and insights. We never met, I didn't know his name, but I was grateful and taken by his thoughtfulness in this regard.

I believe he was 80.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

I'd hesitated on posting his full name as I was unaware of any policy here, but after talking with his wife that is fine -- Jim Brown. He was that kind of a guy and we shared a lot of emails (his hearing loss made it all but impossible for phone conversations). I'm glad that you were able to connect with him.

I'm sorry to read this. I wish I had thought to establish a Memorial section when we lost our first Member. It would be a good way to remember and honor those we have lost.

That's a good idea, Chas. The Gateway to Air Guns Forum has an 'In Memoriam' sub-forum.

I enjoyed his posts greatly and I hope that 1911 he kept on his nightstand will continue protecting his family for decades to come. These United States lost a staunch supporter of Liberty with his passing. I hope his family finds comfort and carries on his beliefs...

I know that his wife no longer had her CHL, but he'd been telling me that he was going to show her how to use his Bond (.410 double loaded). From what he'd said she is a pretty good shot!
