Prayers needed
A true hero died Sunday 4/10/2016. A man who was in the first wave of landing craft that arrived on Omaha Beach on 6 June 1944. And that’s not all. He went to all of my little league baseball games, took me fishing when I was a youngster and generally took care of all of my needs. He went with me when I went to Mr. Cotton’s class for my CHL. He was 91 years old and did quite well in the class for his CHL. He was very good shot for his qualifications. He needed a little help to reload his magazines which Mr. Cotton provided, and I thank him for that. He had a full life for 93 years and was full of love for me and all of those around him. Mostly he was my hero because he was my father.

My prayers for your father and my condolences to you and your family.
Great story and reflection upon a life of an American patriot.
Your dad was in the ranks of those who defeated Hitlers fascism. An amazing accomplishment.
May he rest in peace.

Re: Prayers needed
Commander Cody, what a blessing to be able to cherish such memories of your father. His passing is a time of pain, but you are blessed for having been his son. I am sorry for your loss, and will lift you and your family up in prayer.

Re: Prayers needed
My sincere condolences for your loss. Though the loss is painful, the memories will sustain and while the loss will always be present, the wonderful memories will override the pain. The closeness, that you and your father had, is indeed special and will bless you forever. I pray for you and your family in your loss.
