IDPA Match (Central Texas) - Video...

#1

Post by AggieMM »

Just thought I'd share. I competed this weekend at Copperas Cove Pistol Club (CCPC) just outside of Copperas Cove, Texas. Great group of shooters. Here is the video of me.

Oh, and did I mention I was the MD? I've submitted COFs before to various clubs in the past, but this was the first match where I contributed all of the COFs.

If you're in Central Texas, I highly recommend looking CCPC up.

Neat video....thank you very much. Do you drop the slide with your left hand following a reload? It looks like you did on stage 6.

If so....you do it quickly. I know that many utilize this method, but I don't think I have ever seen it on video....neat.

The scenarios look like a lot of fun!

Thanks. As for the slide lock reload, yes, I reach up with my left thumb and pull the slide release down on my Glock.

THANK YOU for using a tripod!

So many videos are unwatchable because the camera is swinging wildly about.

What tripod, that was my brother holding it down range. Just kidding. Yes, I like to set it up the way I like it, and then hit record. When I would let others video me, I never got what I wanted.

I got inspired by a few competition videos on GT, so I decided to add some music to mine for fun. :)

Looks like fun. Is anyone concerned about ricochets from the rocks/concrete in the berms?

Unfortunately, in Central Texas, that is all there is around here, "rock". We tried to set the COFs up where there were no major rocks in the way.

I was one of the nubee's at that Aug 4th IDPA match and really enjoyed it!!! I will sure go back. Everyone was really friendly willing to work with safe shooters. His brother was just as good... Everyone that applies for a concealed handgun license should at least compete in one IDPA match. This venue of shooting really shows you what you do wrong and right.

MUCH different than standing still in your lane and poking holes in paper!

Thanks for sharing with us!!!

Ryan, is too much of a gentleman to mention it himself, but last week when Texas Tactical was rained out, Ryan made it ot the Temple Gun Club match and had the best time in the entire event. He shoots Sharpshooter in SSP and beat some very good shooters rated Expert or better
