DAPS is holding an introduction to practical shooting class geared at helping new and beginner shooters form a good solid foundation to grow on.
Whether you shoot IDPA or USPSA, this class will help you understand the basics of the draw, reload, and trigger control. And as we all know, an expert is just someone who does the basics better than anyone else.
I will be teaching the class with lots of help from other veteran DAPS shooters.
The class will take place at the Quail Creek range on April 13 and is limited to the first 12 shooters to sign up.
We will shoot at least 400 rounds during the course of the day, so come prepared to shoot.
Cost will be $50 if you are a member of DAPS and $75 if you are not - or you can just join DAPS for $20 and get the member cost. 100% of the proceeds are going into the DAPS coffers to help us purchase more props and match necessities so we can put on good quality matches for your enjoyment in the future.

Introduction to Practical Shooting
I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961

I will be there tomorrow. Thanks High Velocity for posting this thread. Everyone who has contacted me from DAPS has been great, it will be fun to meet them all. They seem like a great bunch of people. I am hoping to learn the basics of practical shooting so I can shoot in a match sometime soon. It looks like a lot of fun and I can't wait to get started.

Re: Introduction to Practical Shooting
Just back myself. What a great class and a terrific bunch instructors. Now I have a lot's of things to practice. I learned so much I can't wait to practice and get out to the range again. If any of you in the DFW area are looking for a good club to join the DAPS group is fantastic. And those guy's and gal's are some awesome shooters. Thanks again to High Velocity for posting about the class on this forum.
