Does anyone here shoot the NRA HighPower rifle matches in Service or Match? If so where do you shoot?

I shoot Service Rifle at Bayou Rifles in Juliff, which is South of Houston (map at the web site in my signature).

Greenwood, a little farther South, that also has Highpower competition.

I don't know whether PSC does or not, but I think they do shoot NRA prone intermediate range matches - could be wrong.

Panola Gun Club is the club closest to you that has High Power matches. AFAIK, they have a very dedicated group and more than their share of highly skilled participants who could be a terrific resource for getting you started.

TSRA has a list of gun clubs, the various sites will tell you if they offer High Power matches. http://www.tsra.com/codepages/shoot-clubs.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My daughter shoots at Bayou Rifles with BobCat, and also at Greenwood. The folks at Bayou have been incredibly helpful introducing the new shooter into the sport. Greenwood gets a lot of the same folks who shoot at Bayou. We've been to one match at Golden Triangle, a really friendly group of folks there too.

What Iratollah failed to mention is that his daughter, who started shooting Highpwer not-that-long-ago, now regularly posts much higher scores than I do - especially Standing, but often in all four matches - and I've been at it quite a while.

Have fun!

Thanks for the kind remarks Andrew. Hope to see you this Sunday! They're having the Pearl Harbor Match, the girl is trying to talk me into bringing my M1 carbine and actually shooting in the match this time.
