WHIDPA January Multigun Match (Corrected scores)

#1

Post by Bob Wolff »

Well, day started off at 71 F at 0715 then 55 F at 0730 with wind from the N at 20 mph!!!
Heavy winds caused the scenarios to be modified so they would at least stand up.

First I want to thank all those who helped set up, score and otherwise make the match work. Remember without all of us participating there would not be a match.

Need to talk safety for a moment:
Gun handling behind the line MUST be performed in a safe area. Laying firearm on a table and working on it is not in a safe area.
We must constantly focus on safety. Simple lapses are what cause NDs.
We had one DQ. I mention it only that we all learn from it. Getting up from prone on the long shots, gloved finger got into the trigger, discharge within 2 yds of shooter.

On SOAPBOX
A note about match Etiquette:
When your squad is shooting the last stage, it is considered poor form, bad manners (or whatever you want to call it) to leave and not stay to help with taping and tear down. I understand that people need to leave sometimes, then come early and help set-up.

Now the good news, had 35 shooters!!!

Some highlights:
Bruce shot the match with his M1 carbine, thanks for the old school shooting lesson
Larry smoked the "Long shots" at 9.14, well shot
Saw alot of smiles and heard the normal "bitchin", so I guess we are doing OK.

Low points down goes to Nick T who shot the match clean.
Overall match winner........Jason. Well done

Several of the group are going to Corpus Christi next week for the Texas State Carbine Championship, wish us luck.
till next month,
Bob, Grand Poobah of all things Multigun at WHIDPA.
