I am looking at choices for ESR and it seems the obvious choice is a 625.
My question is should I get the JM 625 or get a stock 4" 625 and get it worked on.
If I do get a stock 625 (or even a JM 625) what work should I get done?
I am thinking
1) Trigger
2) Fiber front sight
Anything I am missing?

Re: IDPA ESR question about S&W 625
I have used my 1989 model 625 to shoot ESR and it's a hoot. In addition to the [abbreviated profanity deleted] front sight and trigger work, I highly recommend chamber chamferring and polishing. You want your reloads to be as fast as possible.
I also only use jacketed bullets. Cast or Moly coated lead makes the chambers dirty in a hurry. Dirty = sticky
Whether you get a JM model or a standard one, you'll need work done. So, I'd get whichever you can get sooner or cheaper.
Good luck!

I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961
