Bandera IDPA

I live in Austin and in Central Texas, the second Saturday of the month is not, or was not, an easy time and place to find an IDPA match.

Well, now the situation is better.

I wanted to go to a match today and after looking around found

In case you don't know Bandera is in the hill country northwest of San Antonio. It is the Cowboy Capitol of Texas and is a really a neat little town in a great setting. The drive up from San Antonio is beautiful. The people are friendly, the shooting fee is cheap and the stages are good.

Ryan Taylor, a friend and very good shooter from the Texas Tactical bunch ran the match and several other Texas Tactical shooters were there. They had several LEO's, three young shooters and a bunch of other nice folks as well. There were about 18 shooters in all.

So if you find yourself on a Second Saturday and want a good match, have a great day at Bandera. Getting there and back was good too.

Best of the West in Liberty Hill also runs IDPA on second weekends. In fact, there's a match tomorrow morning. I'm planning to be there and know of at least one other forum member planning to attend.
