October WHIDPA Multigun Match Scores & AAR

#1

Post by Bob Wolff »

Weather was pretty good, although it did get to 94.

First off thanks to all those who helped set-up, tear-down, score, reset, tape and especially the SOs.
Remember without all us contributing, there would not be a match, it is appreciated.

Had a total 46 shooters today!
Several new shooters and a group from Austin, thanks for coming out.

4 stages:
Stage 1: around the van with shooter choice of either pistol only or rifle-pistol. There was a good mix of choices.
Stage 2: Big bay rifle-pistol. Appears the non-threats behind the steel & poppers caught a few people. Lots of interpretations on how to shoot.
Stage 3: Shotgun only. Your choice of shooting positions to start, included Texas star and slug shots.. Those with open cylinder shotguns need to remember to aim.
Stage 4: Long Range, par time of sixty seconds. Two positions, two steel at each position. 30 yds separating positions. 140 & 110 yd shots

Couple of observations:
• Was really great seeing JF shooting his 1891 Moison-Nagant with his 1911. Not bad with those stripper clips.
• Had a visitor from Italy who was there to observe how to run a 3 gun match. He is working on 3 gun in Italy. So if anybody is going to Italy and wants to shoot a match, let me know!
• Hate to say it, but we had a DQ for a safety violation today. We all need to keep safety paramount in our minds and actions

Congratulations to Buddy Barbay who shot the match clean, well done.
Overall winner..Jason Tielke, well shot & well done.

See you all next month
