Kevin. I think he has been shooting regular there for years and I think his son Christopher used to as well.

I have been looking into this also as we have 3 matches a month at a range 30 mins from my house USPSA matches, I have 2 questions. I did write them and received the welcome aboard style package that has a lot of information. My question are, how do you get put in a class, I understand what the classes are, but how do you get to one. Also I am a 100% disable OEF/OIF vet. I can walk and move but not for long periods of time. IF the match take a long time, I might be at 70% movement spend when I start, but close to walking speed as the match goes on, will my squad hate me?

As long as you are a safe shooter, no one in the squad will hate you. The actual shooting in a match does not take long. It's the scoring, taping, brassing and resetting steel that takes time. Let the RO know that you have some physical issues and volunteer to help keep score. The last match I shot at we had a gentleman that was recovering from a bypass. He sat in a chair in the shade and did all the score keeping. It worked out great. Most 5 stage matches start at 10AM and are done around 1:30 or 2:00 PM.

In USPSA, you get placed in a class by shooting Classifier stages. http://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/index.html These will be mixed in with normal field stages at matches.

When you first start you will be "Unclassified". Once you have shot enough Classifier stages, you will be classified.

Yes, you are allowed to come and watch the match, if you are a "non-PSC member" you can not shoot unless it is part of a match. you will have more fun if you participate!

to find information in this match you have 2 options go to the PSC website at http://www.psc-range.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and click on the calender tab and look at the upcoming events at PSC. or you can go to http://www.texassouthsection.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; this is the regional group for all the local USPSA clubs in this part of the world. ie. south Texas.

hope that helps.

Thanks for the correction. I was wondering why it wasn't coming up.

I believe that Charles (tongue in cheek) might be expressing a preference for IDPA over IPSC.

Yep, just an inside joke with Kevin and some of the other PSC IDPA crew. There's nothing wrong with USPSA at all.
