That is the EXACT same thing I have been saying since I have been shooting competitively.

You gain so much knowledge and confidence in the ability to... quickly react in a SD situation...safely handle you weapon under stress. You reaction becomes second nature.

The part about "shooters who possess a skill level ... you wouldn't have thought possible if you hadn't seen it with your own eyes" is so true.

Competitive shooting may not be an end-all/be-all but there is a tremendous amount to be learned. And it is some of the most cost effective training out there.

Competitive shooting ranks third in my book in putting a shooter under stress (besides actual combat). Force on force training would be the number one way learn to shoot under stress and team tactics training would be second. I think that clearing a building with another person, both with loaded guns, and moving around each other shooting BG targets (even if Clint Smith is standing right with you the whole way) is very stressful!
