IDPA QUESTION

#1

Post by that1otherdude »

I have a Taurus 1911AR SS and was wondering if it meets the requirements to shoot (weight, fits in the box)... does anyone know (or have shot it in competition).

Thanks in Advance.

(yes I wish it was a Wilson Combat CQB ;-) )

If it is standard 1911, yes it will be legal. you will shoot in CDP.

I just looked on the Taurus web sight and did not see a 1911 that would not be "legal"

go to IDPA.com and download the rulebook. It gives the weight requirements and dimensions for the box that it must fit in, as well as everything else you could possibly want to know.

thanks for the replies... I'll try to make my own box...

It's probably not a good idea to weigh it at the post office though...

Thank you... I made my own "box" using their specs and can definitively say that a PT1911AR meets the specs (it weighs 39 0z).....

Thanks all!! See you at PSC this Saturday!
