At what point woudl you say a trigger goes from being street worthy to strickly competitive? And, at what point do you feel it becomes dangerous?
I think anything lkess than 3.5-lbs is strickly competitive and anything below 2.0-lbs can be dangerous. Nothing scientific to back this up, just my thoughts on the subject. Waht are your thoughts - if any?

Personal opinion =s: I like the 4.5# on my 1911 carry guns & dont want anything at all less than 4#.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

If it is reliable and covered with a holster..I don't guess anything is too light if you trust it.
I like around a 4 lb. pull on the guns I carry and the ones I play games with. I have played with every spring combination that anyone can imagine and I always end up going back to the one that gives a good positive reset (darn close to stock).

I think that when considering the pull weight, you should also consider whether it is a SA or DA trigger (i.e. length of pull). I think that with a longer pull, you could go lighter than with a shorter pull.
The main thing for me is that it is smooth throughout the entire pull.

As long as the trigger is totally reliable - works every time, and WILL NOT be jarred off - it's OK in my book.
