March PSC-IDPA Match

#1

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

The March PSC-IDPA match has been cancelled. It falls on March 28, one of two annual volunteer work days at PSC. If anyone is interested in helping with our major project we refer to simply as the "Bay C Project," we'd love to have you! Now that it has been tested and we know it will work, I'll let you folks know what has been going on in the "Skunk Works" for several months.

We have designed and completed most of the construction on a computer-controlled target system for pistol Bay C that consists of dual, independently controlled running targets that will cover a 60 foot span. Also part of the system are computer-controlled "lateral movers" and computer-controlled turning targets. All of these target systems can be controlled independently or in unison. The lateral movers and turning targets are pneumatic and the dual runners are driven by separate electric motors.

Jim Pierce has done all of the design work and construction on this equipment and Randy Allen is doing the control work, including computer programming. This is going to be a tremendous system available for matches and training.

We need some help doing the final priming and painting of these systems. We will then move them to a test area for final testing. We also need to build a protective wall in sections so they can be moved into place upon completion of testing. There are other projects we can work on as well. If the weather is bad, we have plenty we can do in our new barn.

If you are interested in being part of this work party, please send me an email Charles@TexasShooting.com and I'll get you on the volunteer list.

Thanks folks,
Chas.
