SHOOTING FROM HORSEBACK

My wife has a lady working for her that moved here from Michigan about a year ago. Her and her husband were involved in competitive shooting that involved shooting cowboy style six shooters while mounted on horseback. Does anyone know of any groups / clubs in this area that do this? In particular in the Galveston, Santa Fe, Alvin region. Thanks for your help. :tiphat:

look for "Cowboy Action Shooting" as I believe that's what it's called.

don't know of any offhand in that area.

Thanks for the info; it got me pointed in the right direction. There are some Cowboy Action Shooting organizations around this area but they use 1800's "period" firearms that fire lead. There is a separate organization called Cowboy Mounted Shooting Assoc. who's closest affiliate is in Willis called Gulf Coast Mounted Shooters. They used specially loaded .45 blanks. You learn something new every day - Again - Thanks. :tiphat:

Yep, but some horses will jump out from under you. They have to be taught.
