1st IDPA Match
Went tonight to the CrossTimbers new shooter class and did my first match, all I can say is I need a lot more practise I think I scored in the bottom 5 maybe 3. Any way looks like a good excuse to get more range time. As a side note I fired some Russian ammo I got at Cabela's($19) no problems with them fired around 50 they weren't brass casing I think maybe aluminum.

Re: 1st IDPA Match
Congrats on your first match!! Be careful, it's VERY addicting! Don't worry about the scores, just concentrate on your own improvement. The score is just a way to track your progress. It's an excellent way to work on and improve your basic skills. Have fun!!!suthdj wrote:Went tonight to the CrossTimbers new shooter class and did my first match, all I can say is I need a lot more practise I think I scored in the bottom 5 maybe 3. Re: 1st IDPA Match

Definitely compete against yourself in improving speed and accuracy. I started in January last year and only did practice matches. I submitted for my membership this year and shot the classification for this year as well, for the first time. I was surprised I almost made SS in CDP. I love doing this now and started reloading to compensate for the cost.

My wife and I still need to shoot the classifier, but we're members and shoot as many matches as we can. We love it as well and just can't get enough!TxDrifter wrote:![]()
