Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

shortysboy09,
Dec 26 is the date (4th Saturday) for the monthly IDPA match at PSC in Friendswood.
Info here: http://www.pscidpa.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm sure the directors are trying to see how many folks are available to referee and
set up the match before committing to hold it the day after Christmas. ;-)

williamkevin and I were certainly thinking/planning to shoot on Saturday if the match were going to be held. However, I'm really leery of saying for sure that we'll be there because it really depends on the weather. I'm new to this IDPA stuff and I already stretching the limits of my skills without adding frozen fingers to the mix.

Gloves (and maybe one of those chemical handwarmers you can get at walmart/academy) Just alter your prepare to shoot routine to include taking gloves off just before "Face down range, load and make ready".
Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

When I get up to shoot I can barely remember to take the safety off, much less a pair of gloves! "rlol" "rlol"

Count me in. I have never helped with setup, but I will certainly volunteer my time.

Email me at c DOT schu AT sbcglobal DOT net to let me know what I need to do, and when I need to be there.

Thanks!

I hear ya TLynn.
I look at it as an opportunity for cold weather practice, not unlike low light practice or weak and strong hand practice.
How do I handle my weapon under these conditions?
The buzzer ads to the mix.

It is difficult to arrange for all attacks to occur on sunny warm days. ;-)

For my money, the best shootin' gloves I've found are Cabela's Premier Pittards Uninsulated Leather Shooting Gloves. They're even on sale right now.

These are not for hunting, extended field work, or for really low temperature conditions (or for LEO/military use: they are not reinforced). They are neither rugged nor especially warm, though they're warm enough for a couple of hours in most Texas winters.

But for full-finger coverage they're about the best I've found under $100 for tactile sensation, control, and flexibility. They're stretchy enough that I'd recommend buying one size smaller than you think you need.
