The new Arms Room location is in the beginning stages of forming an IDPA club. They plan to shoot matches every Monday night. Safety meeting at 6:30 with hammer down at 7:00. Last weeks six scenario match was great fun. See you there.

It WAS great fun. 35 people and 6 scenarios completed in about 3 hours. Everyone shot safely and did a great job. Try it out.

Had a lot of fun and it was great to see quite a few women shooting the match.

While all in attendance shot well, one of the ladies has VERY impressive skills with a scandium J-frame.

It is a push for me to get there for 6:30. Is it a problem if one does not arrive until 6:45? Is double hearing protection needed/required? Is this a "lost brass" match?

Thanks!

I do not run the match or have any authority over it, but here are my observations. I am pretty sure they want everyone to attend a safety briefing and understand the way they do things. I have seen some experienced shooters come in at the time you mentioned and not have a problem. I have not heard anyone say one way or the other about the match being lost brass. It is a pretty fast paced match and most of the down time is spent taping.

The Monday night match is well worth the time. We had a great time and even got some "old time" shooters to participate.

Hope this continues and grows.

Jim - It was great to see you! We have to do this more often. My current schedule is going to make me a regular on Monday nights until shift changes in January.

I had a great time and will continue to shoot on Mondays as long as possible. I'm not as good with the 9mm as I was with the .38 special but I definitely had more fun with the SA. ;-)

What is needed for IDPA at the Arms Room to be sanctioned (not sure If I am asking it correctly)? A certain amount of regular members? A specific time period? Just curious.

After tonight, She wants to try her J-frame again lol. I taught her well...

They do allow shotguns if I am correct.

She can shoot a glock like no ones business (she shot my G26 excellently), but it's been a while. After a couple more matches, the right gear, and practice she will........ We're "target" shooters till this point, so it's taking some time to get used to shooting fast and "under pressure" for the both of us. I do think a good set of three dots will help us both, I know I'm used to it and so is she. I for one have a "point and shoot" problem (not seeing my sights) .

Anyways, This is a really fun deal! Safety is awesome, a must for me to condone it. We look forward to next Monday!
