IDPA in San Antonio?
Does anyone know of any IDPA events (& cost) in San Antonio? Indoor preferably but outdoor is fine.

I have shot their weekend matches a few times. It is a great group that is quite welcoming to new shooter. They usually get huge groups for their matches so it's a great place to learn and meet fellow shooters.austinrealtor wrote:http://www.texastactical.net

yes, they're very good with new shooters. I almost have "Bubba's" new shooter speech memorized I've heard it so much nowjason237m wrote:It is a great group that is quite welcoming to new shooter.

At the Bandera Gun Club - a nice drive in the country from San Antonio, just get on Bandera outside of 1604 and go for it.

Here's this weekend's match.
We will be having the monthly IDPA Match Saturday, June 11, 2011. Signup start at 8 AM, hammer down at 9 AM.
PLEASE NOTE: SIGNUP AT 8 AM, HAMMER DOWN AT 9 AM!!!!!!
We are starting up early to avoid the heat of the day. There will be a side BUG match after the primary match. Probably two stages. So if you are a BUG'er, bring it. Note, to qualify as a BUG, the barrel must be less than 4 inches. Not 4 inches, but less than 4 inches. So 3.99 inches is fine. But not more. Did I mention that it needs to be less than 4 inches?
Also before I forget: SIGNUP AT 8 AM, HAMMER DOWN AT 9 AM!!!!!!
See you there!

Do either of these groups do a Wednesday night shoot, by any chance?

No. Strictly weekends.Scott in Houston wrote:Do either of these groups do a Wednesday night shoot, by any chance?
Texas Tactical at one time did night shoots, but the current range at Bulvurde does not allow it.
By the way, if you ever get a chance to do a night shoot, take advantage of the opportunity.
Most defensive uses of lethal force occur in low/no light situations. The experience of using you flashlight while you address targets is a valuable one.

Re: IDPA in San Antonio?
Bandera has run a night shoot after an afternoon match. Hasn't lately, though.
They are fun.
