SB 838 ... Friendly to Criminals

Y'all,
SB 838 is a bill that would make it much more difficult for the Parole division to revoke the parole of those who commit additional offenses while on parole. This means parolees have less incentive to stay out of trouble. I have been told by one person in the parole division that it is tough enough to get some parolees to report monthly as they are supposed to, and this bill means the parole officers have one less way to handle those who don't report.
The bill passed the Senate and is in the House, probably to be voted on soon. If at all possible please contact your State Reps and ask them to vote against it, and contact Gov. Perry to ask him to veto it if it does pass.
Thanx,
TraCoun
