this came up in my class...

100% cool unless you're in a park/land that doesnt otherwise allow you to carry.

Guns and boats. That's a mix.

Reminds me of the fellow who got a 7 foot shark into his skiff.

The fish was flopping all around so he gets his pistol and unloads at the fish. He missses the fish.

We all know how this ends.

Back in the 80’s I did a lot of night fishing by myself on Lake Tyler and Lake Palestine. Before I left the house I always checked to make sure I had rods, reels, tackle box and the 38spl J-Frame. It was not on the water that I was worried about. I carried because boat docks can be very lonely in the wee hours of darkness.

Fishermen Shoots Holes in Boat in Ouachita River in Arkansas

One fisherman in Arkansas was boating down the Oachita River in Arkansas. When he came to his fishing hole, he tied up to bank and let out the anchor. A mouse ran across the boat floor. The man was deathly afraid of mice for some reason. He picked up his .22 pistol and shot several holes in his boat trying to dispatch the mouse.

He shot a bunch of holes in the bottom of his aluminum boat. He had to speed it down the river to trailer his boat before it took on too much water. I would not have believed this without seeing the boat and hearing it directly from the man. To this day, he is still afraid of a mouse.

A pistol is pretty good medicine for those pesky alligator gar too.

Just make sure that YOU ACTUALLY HIT THE GAR BEFORE YOU PICK IT UP OUT OF THE WATER!!

(too funny....but true!!) I had a buddy that learned this fact firsthand. We had a deer lease in Graford that had a stretch of the Brazos running through it. GREAT FISHING...but quite a few gar in the river. So....we start bustin the ones that get too close, or chase our stringer (we were wading). Well he shoots one upstream about 30 ft. and as it floats by he decides to pick up the thing.

Well I'm sure many of you have heard the story about the deer that was hit and put in the back seat of a car......... WELL....you wanna see funny, how about a guy with a fishin pole, a stringer of stripers, a beer (i know  ), a Glock and a 3' gar that has just been resurected. TALK ABOUT HUMOR....OMG!!! I thought I was gonna die... :smilelol5:
