Wally Walk...ta...da...
...well, I finally was able to meet with my daughter at a wally world, so as to be able to make the famous wally walk. I have had my plastic for a week and have been carrying everyday since I opened the letter from DPS. Every time I go out the door I am carrying. During the week it was a typical week...doctor office, store, church, etc...all went well.
Finally the wally walk...I had asked my daughter to go with me so she could take a couple of pictures to document the historic event, and guess what...she forgot her camera. So, she had to use my cellphone, therefore, the picture are not very clear.
Everything went good, when we got there I exited my truck and quickly surveyed the parking lot...all was clear. Then we preceded to advance upon the target. Upon entering I went to check out the fish stuff, (sorry no nachos, they did not have any, but I did get a big ole' drink) from there the auto parts, and then I tried to buy a box of ammo...to no avail (could not find any one, any where). Then my daughter had a few things to pick up for supper so we crisscrossed the store several times and then headed for the check out. We walked the entire line of check outs looking for the longest line. Can you believe it, each one only had one person in it. Nevertheless, I made it through and now it is up to the Texas wally walkers association of Texas to vote...yea or nay...
I was carrying a Colt Officers Model .45ACP, IWB and a Luger LCP .380 in the pocket.

I'm laughing hysterically at your posing with the banana. If you were trying to pay homage to dukesean, you succeeded! Nicely done!

I second that! Man card is definitely issued. Give the man Kudos for the bananan stance and the trigger finger (off the banana trigger) - thanks DukeSean for the updated banana part of the Wally Walk! Awesome picture and great report! The Annoyed Man wrote:I vote Yeah - issue this guy his Man Card in full standing!

Thanks, everyone!! The reason I have the banana in that hand is because if I held it in my right hand...it would have covered the lady shopper on my left! ...safty first, never point a loaded banana at anyone or thing.
...and besides that, I was trying to be very discreet.

Silly question...I got my first CHL back in 98, and did not renew back in 03. Now I just got my CHL again. So, to be considered as "full" CHL holder, do I need to go for a Wally Walk?

If you did not do a Wally Walk (or the equivalent thereof) the first time then you are obligated to do the complete walk this time.rmoraes wrote:B"H

If you did do a Wally Walk or the equivalent the first time, then a simple "refresher" should be sufficient. Try one of these:
- Go to a busy gas station when it's a bit breezy and stay outside the vehicle the entire time you're pumping gas.
- Take the family to a busy (non-posted) restaurant on a busy evening. Even fast food is ok as long as you go inside, and stand in line with strangers. No take-out.
- Eat at the food court at your favorite mall or store during the weekend rush.
I'm sure folks here can think of a few other "refresher" possibilities.
