I will say that this last week has made me much more comfortable in using my Galco OWB and the confidence that I can conceal it effectively. I also wore the IWB this weekend w/o issue. I think the pains were a combination of many things.

1) The belt might play a small role (lack of support)
2) Waist band on short too small for IWB use
3) Decrease of muscle tone in lower back

I have addressed them as follows:
1) new belt on order
2) Bought a couple of pairs of shorts for now
3) I have been back hitting the weights post Marathon and am felling GREAT. I have a very mild history of Degenertive Disc Disease that flairs up in mild lower back pain if I quit lifting weights for too long. So that is improving now.

Good deal. Cary can be both comforting & comfortable.

Just to update on this topic, the pains are GONE!!!! I think it was a combination of things like I said previous. But working out with the weights and doing "Back work" I think helped a lot.

Glad to hear it.

Hopefully it will not reoccur.
