I now have a Glock 19 and a Taurus Millennium Pro 111. I can put boxes of ammo through these two and never feel it. To be truthful, I like my Taurus better than my Glock - I shoot much better with it. Probably because with my small hands, it just feels better. I will still keep my Glock though. ;-)
I did go with the Taurus Millennium PRO, but I got the .40 cal instead of the 9mm. It's a really good gun. I haven't shot it much yet because everyone is buying up all the ammo lately, but I have sent a couple hundred rounds through it (the second day I had it), and no jams. I really like the way it feels, and I'm a small guy so there probably isn't much difference in our hands. I understand what you mean about something being rough on the hands. Great gun though. I feel a real strong attachment to it. :tiphat:

Walther Recall Notice - It is not clear to me whether a PPS uses the same mechanisms as the PPK, but I'll bet it isn't included in the recall; otherwise I'm sure that Walther would have specified the model designation "PPS" as part of the recall.

I skipped out on the Walther altogether because they told me that the PPK/S and the PPS had both been recalled.

Nope - just the PPK and PPK/S.

Well crap, I guess I'll have to start saving again. I really wanted that PPS and skipped out because they said they couldn't sell it to me cause it was recalled.

First off, I bought "Wife Unit" a Bersa .380, and she "kinda" likes it...We have resided to using a nice generic leather "clip" IWB holster for it, and that works just fine when and if she carries...But that is a different story...Yes, the ammo is expensive and sometimes hard to find, but in my opinion the use of this caliber for SD is just fine, I believe you are just as "got" with a .380, as you are with pretty much any other caliber or gun...Practice, practice and more practice...And get them signed up in some women's only groups to practice as well...There are some absolutely top notch women instructors out there that I'd go to war with anyday, they'd whoop me on a bad day! ;-)

I'll tell the story again, that the first firearm she ever bought, and I have to say with no input from me or anyone else, was that Taurus PT24/7 in 9mm a few years ago...That is, in my opinion, one of the smoothest handguns I have ever been allowed to put only 17 rounds thru before I got it taken away from me... :smilelol5:

And if there is anything anyone can ever learn about that process is that if your significant other wants a gun, let them pick it out...If it feels good in the hand, they will want to shoot it, and shoot it till they get good with it...That is so critical, its not even funny...

Just my opinion...
