Introduction

Hello,

My name is Tim, I'm not exactly new to the forum, I've been lurking around here for several weeks reading and trying to learn all I can.
I am not new to guns at all, my Dad took me shooting for the first time (that I can remember) when I was just shy of 4 years old. I'm 36 now, have hunted and been around guns all my life. I recently traded an old Colt .45 MK IV Combat Elite that I had owned for about 15 or so years for a Sig P226 in 9mm. Man that Sig is such a sweet shooting beauty!!

I am, however fairly new to CHL. I've been interested in it ever since they passed the law allowing concealed carry in Texas. For whatever reason, I've always been unwilling or unable to turn loose of the money for the class + the money for the license + the money for holster...etc. But I have just signed up and prepaid for a class that is being given on May 30th!!! :woohoo Then the wait will begin.

Any way, just thought it was about time to poke my head out and say hi!
Tim

Welcome aboard, Tim.

Be forewarned, you have committed a cardinal sin by trading your 1911 for a Sig. Shame, shame, shame.

Others will come along and claim that you did well. They are all wrong, and I am always right. Remember that, and you will have a long and prosperous stay at TexasCHLForum.com "rlol"

Seriously, welcome! Glad to have you and I will forgive you for trading the Colt off...in time. :cheers2:

:leaving I knew I was gonna get a lot of that! LOL!!

I'm not sure if it's just the way the Sig fits my hands...or....what it is, but I'm a LOT more accurate with it than I ever was with the Colt. (I guess I could have been just loading crappy reloads for the Colt too.)

Hi Tim and welcome. Unfortunately I'm with the other Tim as I have three 1911s myself. In all seriousness though, you should carry whatever make or caliber you are comfortable and confident with to protect yourself.

Sure they do, as long as you put graduated fractional inch markings along the top of that squared off slide. :smilelol5:

Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys! :tiphat:
And yes, I'll be in the waiting room before you know it.
Oh well. I guess the wait will give me time to get a holster and a good gun belt. :thumbs2:

No kidding! I had never owned any handguns except 1911s and when the guy at the shop disassembled the Sig, I just stared at him and said, "That's it???"
