This isn't so much CC related. I'm planning on going to the gun show this weekend to see if I can find a new holster, but I want to take my carry weapon with me so I can see how it fits in various holsters.
I wouldn't think I could carry it concealed and then pull it out at a vendor table, I'm sure I'll have to stop at the front table and have it zip tied like everyone else. My question is, how do people get from their cars to that table? I've never really paid attention. Do they carry it in a case? I've never really noticed anyone walking in with a case, but it seems irresponsible to walk in toting a bare gun.

Re: Going to gunshow
It doesn't matter. I've seen people coming and going to the show carrying bare, in a case, in a box. You name it.
Last time I went, I was carrying my carry gun in my pocket. I unloaded it while in the car. I too was looking for a holster. Got to the check in table, pulled out my gun, handed it to the LEO who inspected it and zip tied it and gave it back to me. Neither he or I gave it the first thought that I was conceal carrying then pulled it out of my pocket.
That was at the Ft.Worth gun show at Will Rogers.

What he said. Lots of people are bringing in firearms to trade so its no deal. Just unload it and don't point at any one!joe817 wrote:It doesn't matter. I've seen people coming and going to the show carrying bare, in a case, in a box. You name it.

Re: Going to gunshow
All the gun shows around have you make sure it is unloaded and then show it to the guy at the door with the slide locked back. As Joe stated, they will zip-tie it and you can reholster and go on in. Most don't want you to have a mag with ammo on you either.joe817 wrote:It doesn't matter. I've seen people coming and going to the show carrying bare, in a case, in a box. You name it.

Re: Going to gunshow
One thing I did at the last gun show I attended, where I was also looking for a holster?
I zip tied it myself beforehand, in such a way that I could still fit it into a holster. I zip tied the trigger down around the back of the grip, so that the slide wasn't locked back or anything that would keep me from trying different holsters.

Re: Going to gunshow
Should be no big deal walk up with it unloaded, they will zip-tie it and your good to go. I've seen people carry them in cases in bags or just out in the open.
Re: Going to gunshow
I assume your going to the one in San Antonio ? Can anyone comment on how the saxet gun shows are now that they are not at the Freeman Colliseum. The new place they are doing it is off of Marbach and 410, and I am curious as to if it is not as good due to space limitations. I could be off on the size though since they really only used the ground floor at the colliseum, perhaps it just seems big due to the high ceilings.....anyone able to compare?

There's actually a small thread going on about that hereSpanky wrote:I assume your going to the one in San Antonio ? Regarding the original topic, I had no problems carrying my holstered Bersa up to the building. It felt weird walking around with an open carry.

Mission accomplished, got a great deal on a Comp Tac IWB holster. Huge upgrade from my Uncle Mike's IWB. HUGE.
