need suggestions for CC

#1

Post by liljojo47110 »

first post and i need some advice :).

i am a personal trainer and i want to cc in my gym while im training in light of what has occurred at a couple gyms around the u.s.. i wear a cut off shirt and gym shorts so i dont even know if cc is possible. i can tie my shorts and make them stay up so hopefully weight isnt an issue (glock 27). any holsters yall would recommend that i can still be somewhat active in?

one of these?

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've actually picked up one of each to try out and see which I like better. Of course, if I ever actually start exercising again they'll come in VERY handy :anamatedbanana

I've contemplated wearing my smart carry (http://www.smartcarry.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) to the gym. I've been more concerned with taking a punch or kick (Krav Maga) than about the ability to conceal. I'd want to carry something lighter than my full sized Kimber.

It is not fashionable, but you might consider a fanny pack.

This is made to sell & does not work on the street.
I had one yrs ago. Saw another later at a gun show demoed. Longer I watched the more I was able to see the specal things done to make it work for the demo & not work on the street.

For what will work in your gym. first poster, extreemduty is right on. Belly band. If you wear your shirt cut off at the bottom then do like I do, wear the Belly Band high so your draw is like a shoulder holster. My tiny little chest above a 60yr old tummy holds mine up very well. If you have a Charles Atlas chest (Probably do) & a flat tummy then sew a couple of shoulder straps on it to hold it up.
Your cut off shirt will make a lift & draw pretty easy.
I can see standing over someone on a bench press while you spot them being a small issue. A little elastic will take care of that.
Keep it loose enough to lift w/o binding for your draw & you should do fine.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

I tried one of these once. It was like wearing a dinner plate in your pants. VERY uncomfortable. :grumble

rather than altering/sewing a belly band, try a Kangaroo system (same idea, just no need for SEWING :headscratch )

I got all dressed to go work out this morning, but the sleet (and now snow) stopped me. I took a few minutes to add my SmartCarry and Kimber (full sized 1911) and take a picture. Sorry, this is the best I can do until my arms get longer or I teach one of the dogs to take pictures (or my wife gets home). I took this with shirt tucked in, but if I was going to carry in a gym, I'd certainly untuck. If I was going to be jumping around, I'd go with a lighter gun.

DONT TREAD ON ME

my computer is not letting me pull up the site but 5.11 makes a under armour type shirt with a holster on each side. This may be something to look at.

Its either in the holster or undergear section. It may be just what you are looking for.

You might look at the Taurus TCP (Taurus Compact Pistol): http://www.taurususa.com/gun-selector-r ... &toggle=tp

They come with a ballistic nylon pouch, that just looks like a cell phone case to the untrained eye. It's only available in .380 ACP DAO, but it would be better than nothing in a gym and should be relatively comfortable. You could even put it in a pocket holster, if your gym shorts have pockets.

I own a couple of Taurus pistols (although not this model), and they're pretty decent weapons for the money. I've never had any problems with mine.
