Just got it! Woo hoo!

Sorry, just had to post...was excited to find my chl has been sitting in my locked mailbox since Feb 28th...sent in the app on Jan 28 and the license was mailed to me on Feb 26th! Oy, now the daunting task of choosing a good concealable handgun/holster combo.

I was surprised, it took less than a month!

Wow - Austin DPS is working quickly these days.

Congrats on your plastic.

The gun will be easy to choose. The holster - not so much.

welcome and congrats. The above statement is so true. I have choosen to carry my Ruger LCP cause it is the smallest and lightest of my guns. I have gotten every carry method they have to offer and wind up using a little pouch that I just put on my belt. No place for my spare mags tho which is a bummer. Hopefully if the situation ever arises I can put the 6 shots where it counts. :fire

I was looking at the XD Subcompact 40...but then read some good reviews of the Kel Tec's for their small size and small prices.

Congratulations, Happy_Txn!

Mine took only a month as well, after sending everything in this past December.

Find a gun you can shoot, and enjoy to shoot. A gun you will thus like practicing with. Dress around that gun. My .02.

Good luck. Welcome to the CHL Family. :cheers2:

Congratulations!

A few weeks ago there is a good post on choosing a gun. I replied here as well and it should give you some good info. http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=31984
