Glock...XD...lcp... 1911...I always carry full magazine and round chambered...I always do a press check if there is not a loaded chamber indicator before holstering. Rather have it ready to go than have to charge a round should a threat appear.
Chl class for me and wife=$225. Chl application fees =$280. Chl gear for 2=more $ the previous. Moving from sheep to sheepdog = priceless

Re: To chamber or not to chamber
a round in the mag < a round in the chamber
just use common sense and good gun safety techniques
CHAMBER!
the second it takes you to draw, chamber a round, and get on target might be 1 second too late...

C-dub is correct on the order in which motor skills deteriorate under stress, but Johnson0317's point is valid in that having to chamber a round before your gun can be fired adds both significant time and a highly vulnerable point of potential failure to an already very risky situation.C-dub wrote:I thought it was the other way around. Gross typing skils quikly deterioate...
OK, I knew what I meant even if my fingers did not translate it correctly. Fine motor skills go out the window quickly and gross motor skills kick in.
For goodness sake, read what I mean, not what I type!!
