Kind of hard to mail in an original license when your getting a duplicate because you lost the other one.
I have every CHL and DL I've ever been issued. All expired of coarse. Even have the original license issued 1964, It's on Pinkish heavy paper!

I changed my address a while back and sent an email to DPS. The response was to destroy the old one. Original question: "My question is what to do with the old one. Should I destroy it or does it need to be mailed back to DPS?"

Reply from DPS:
You can destroy the old license.

The CHL law is silent on what to do with the old card after an address change. The department may have administrative rules but I don't see any penalty for keeping. Personally, I'm willing to return it if they return my $25 fee.
