Interesting, JSC credit union in Seabrook just posted a 30.06 sign. After looking through the "signs for CHlers" I will go back and take a picture of it, but its big, white with red lettering.
I haven't called a credit union representative, but I am planning to to ask why now?
I was looking for a post that might guide me which questions to ask, if anyone has input please post.

All the JSC credit unions I've been in have been posted - for many years.

Perhaps, they simply overlooked the Seabrook location, until now.

Go withdraw your $millions and go somewhere else with it. Be sure they know why you are leaving.

Yep ask to speak to a manager and inform them you are withdrawing your money and will be banking somewhere else specifically because of their 30.06 sign. Also ask them do you really think someone coming to rob the bank will change their mind once they see the sign????

Doesn't matter if you have millions there or just a few dollars. Ask to speak to the manager and let them know that since they don't honor your 2nd ammendment right, you'll be taking your money somewhere else.

I agree with RoyGBiv... I doubt bank robbers will obey the sign...

Good luck.

The 2 JSCs in Deer Park have been enforcibly posted for several years. In the interest of fairness, they do post uniformed of-duty LEOs in the lobby - which is a lot more than other business do when they 30.06.

But that LEO is not there to protect you, and has no obligation to, so you're no safer. And, according to some of the open carry opponents I've talked to, the LEO, being openly armed, is most likely to be the first target anyway.

It certainly works that way in TV and movies! :thumbs2:

He might be the first target. He might not be. In the course of exercising his duty to protect the bank, he may keep the bad guys from hurting me or anyone else. Or not. But at least there is some provision currently in place. And as I said before, it's at least better than businesses that post 30.06 and then leave you to completely fend for yourself in a less effective manner.

Until you can get the money transferred to another bank, use the drive-in window.

That's what I do.

My bank posts a non-compliant sign... I don't go in unless I must, and when I do, I carry.
One day at the drive through a person who ID'd themselves as the "Area Manager" stepped up to the mic and asked me if there was "anything else we can do to improve your satisfaction" or something like that. To which I said "yes, you can take that stupid "no guns" sign off your door". To which he said "so you don't like to leave your gun in the car?" and I said, "i don't have a gun, I'm just smart enough to realize that when you post a sign like that, every criminal will know that every honest person in your bank is unarmed."... and he said "Oh, never thought of it that way".

If they ever post a compliant sign, I'm gone.
Until then I'll allow myself the illusion they are posting the non-compliant sign on purpose.
Changing banks is a pain in the posterior.
