New to the forum and CHL

#1

Post by mpat2009 »

Hello,
I am brand new to this forum, and am awaiting (and waiting) my CHL from the state. Could you please direct me to the correct forum to ask questions and find resources regarding the TX laws regarding self protection outside of the home? While I have been assured repeatedly that everything on the internet is true; I want to be sure that I am researching, interpreting, and abiding by the current TX laws so that if the worst should ever happen I do not have to spend time in jail, or unnecessary money because I defended my family's life or my own.

Thank you,
Mike

Welcome to the forum. Hopefully you learned enough in your class to keep you out of jail. When I joined the forum I spent most of the first 6 months reading the general CHL section of the forum. There is a wealth of info from guys who really know their stuff.

Crystal clear and thank you for your help. I will absolutely do that. In the interim, if there is a specific topic thread that is available? I would appreciate some help as I did not see one immediately on the index.

If you don't have it already, you should download and study the CHL-16 booklet, directly from the Texas DPS. :tiphat:

Welcome to our little corner of the net.

you should be able to find most of the info you need browsing the "general" forum. You should be able to make sense of how we have things broken down.

Welcome to the both of you. There's lots of good information here. Generally a search of specific terms will turn up lots of results. I did better early on when I just jumped in. Folks on here understand the complexity of being new. So don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you can think of.
