Greetings,
I received my CHL in the mail today and had to head straight to the Post Office (ironically, to pick up a holster). Parked in a different parking lot, locked my gun up inside the car and went inside. If it makes any difference, I was within a mile of Walmart.
I did stop at Market Street (no 30.06, just a no unlicensed carry sign) and shopped. Honestly, I only felt a little conspicuous, as I've had my gun in my car for a month and have always practiced enhanced situational awareness. I do feel like a weight is off my shoulders....that limbo between application and plastic is grueling. I only had to wait 11 days, but Murphy's Law and all...
Thanks to all the people who've added such valuable content. A lot of good information here.

Ha! You'd think so, right? I was prepared for weeks/months based on some of the posts here. My hope is that they've corrected their backlog issue so we can improve that 1 in 37 stat for CHL carriers in Texas.
