Well done, sir![]()
And insightful - in reality, I can sometimes keep a 7-iron straight enough to be charitably called "in the fairway", but other than that and being a decent putt-putt golfer (windmills fear me) me and golf balls don't get along (unless I'm shooting them out of the sky with a shotgun or picking them off at distance with a precision rifle
.... I'm still looking for a driving range that will let me and buddies shoot range balls out of the sky

I used to play when I was younger and was a decent golfer. At least I thought I was until I had my hat handed to me one afternoon. I was doing some training outside of Chicago and we were working half-days. Another instructor and I had been playing at a course that had twilight rates on their green fees. We went o play one afternoon and the starter only had a spot if we were willing to be in a foursome with a couple in their 70's who were part of a senior league. We agreed and played the round with them. They neither one could drive the ball very far, but when it was all said and done they spanked us both due to their shots being straight down the fairway and ours being in the rough or woods periodically and the penalty strokes. Kinda felt like the 'Tortoise and the Hare' story.
