Awe, c'mon. You don't see the irony in buying their jeans and using them to conceal a gun? That would be kinda like that group up in Chicago that used the police department's buy back program to fund a camp for kids to learn about shooting. It would be even better to send Levi's a letter telling them that you think their jeans a great and that they are more comfortable and work better several other brands you have tried for concealing your gun.
LOL. That's hilarious.

I had never heard anything about Levi's and anti-gun stance. I'll have to look into it. I'm obviously pro-carry, support NRA, etc. I'll have to make a switch.

My wife is pretty hot. I have to look good for her. I work out a lot. It's no fun. With two kids it takes up too much time. I'm hoping she gives up soon. :-) I love Blue Bell and BBQ but I have to watch what I eat. Please tell me Blue Bell is anti-gun. That would make it easier to swear off of that stuff too.

Speaking of the downside slide... I'm starting to feel that. Knee problems and foot problems popping up in the last couple of months. That'll put a crimp in the exercise...

I used to wear my all my jeans, slack, shorts maybe an inch or so lower than I do now. I do have a low waist so that's where they would end up anyway. I also never used to wear a belt except when in uniform in the Navy. Off duty and even for years afterward I still didn't wear a belt unless wearing slacks until getting my CHL.

Now, everything is up an inch or so and the belt is snug to keep the gun snugly in place. No more snug fitting jeans for me either. Loose and comfortable is the way to go!

I'm not sure I believe this. I think you're just trying to make us more experienced carriers feel better. :biggrinjester:

I still remember when my waist was smaller than my inseam on my jeans. Now I'm in 36x34's, but only because I can't find any 35x33's. I am odd. :grumble

Top selection is the deciding factor for me, not lower.

Regardless of what lower garment I opt for, it is the top garment that actually conceals the firearm (full size 1911).

I have button down tops for more casual wear that I leave untucked, and button down tops that are a little bit larger so I can tuck them in for a little more formality.

I'll wear a shirt underneath, leave the button down untucked, and leave the bottom 2 buttons unbuttoned for access to the firearm.

Works like a champ.
Thanks for the tips. I think shirt tucked in slacks would be the most difficult to conceal the muzzle, but I don't imagine I'll do that very often. I think I might do AIWB if I do slacks.

One of the issues I have with my shirt is when bending over it rides up a little (not revealing the gun), but then upon straightening back up, the shirt sits on top of the grip and bunches a little there. I may just be overly worried about all this since I'm new at it. I got to thinking yesterday that starching an untucked button down might help prevent the sort of draping and bunching that occurs. but starched stuff is not really my style. a tshirt under a button down might help with this also.

As for jeans, I guess I won't worry about making any quick changes. As I need to replace them, I might look for some with a heavier denim, slightly higher waist, and a more relaxed fit.

At least you can remember that far back.

Yesterday, I went shopping at Kohls . The gentleman in front of me at the checkout counter was loudly complaining to the clerk that he wasn't going to coming back because they didn't cater to "fat people". He said that he couldn't find a pair of shorts with a waist more than 40 inches. I looked at him and smiled. ;-)

As one of those "over 40" in both ways, I can relate to the frustration of finding larger sizes.

My personal choice for CC jeans are the
"Wrangler Comfort Solutions Series Comfort Fit jean has a flex fit waistband that adjusts up to two inches for instant added comfort."
I would add "two inches for instant IWB" but I am not part of their marketing department, so I guess "added comfort" will suffice. But I have found the stretch factor works great for IWB, just buy normal size.

Of course, buying stretchy pants is a mental hurdle in and of itself.

One warning, my 1.5" belt barely fits through the belt loops, if you have a belt larger than 1.5" you might want to check it first.
