Forget nacho's at walmart. I just got back from Plucker's Wing Factory and that has to be way messier. (Not to mention better tasting :) -- and no I don't work for plucker's or anything like that, just saying.

Plucker's has ammunition for sale??atxgun wrote:Forget nacho's at walmart. I just got back from Plucker's Wing Factory and that has to be way messier. (Not to mention better tasting :) -- and no I don't work for plucker's or anything like that, just saying.

In all seriousness you might want to double check and make sure it is NOT 51% posted since on the website it is called Plucker's Wing Bar.

While they do serve quite a bit of alcohol, I don't recall ever seeing a 51% sign there. Having been there many a time, I doubt that alcohol constitutes a majority of their sales.Kyle(Houston) wrote:Plucker's has ammunition for sale??atxgun wrote:Forget nacho's at walmart. Lots of places have "Bar" in the name, but aren't "bars" by Texas law. Applebee's Bar & Grill comes to mind.Kyle(Houston) wrote:In all seriousness you might want to double check and make sure it is NOT 51% posted since on the website it is called Plucker's Wing Bar.
In many parts of Texas (probably most of the state), local option doesn't even allow 51% bars.

No of course no ammunition but I really think eating wings is more of a challenge than the nachos.Kyle(Houston) wrote: Plucker's has ammunition for sale??![]()

I didn't notice a 51% sign but yeah would want to make sure of that.

I don't know if I'd call it great. Their food is decent, and the fried twinkies are interesting. My taste for capsaicin far exceeds what Pluckers is capable of concocting. My problem with their wings is that they use too much vinegar in their sauce, and it is the type of vinegar that disagrees with me. It is a fun place to go watch a game with friends, and their trivia nights are a blast, provided you bring several friends to play with.Kyle(Houston) wrote:Good to know. I have a friend in Austin that has talked about how good it is.frankie_the_yankee wrote:Plucker's is cool. Not a 51% place. Great wings. The waffle fries are pretty good too.
Last week I was at the one at 183 and Burnett. Enjoyed some great wings, fries and a Corona.
More on topic... I have carried there, and did not find any 30.06 or 51% signs.

Off topic of carrying, on topic of pluckers: Really!? I hate vinegar hot sauce, can't stand Tabasco. That's why I love pluckers, I don't taste that at all.NcongruNt wrote: My problem with their wings is that they use too much vinegar in their sauce, and it is the type of vinegar that disagrees with me.

I think it's mostly in the "Fire In The Hole" wings. Those are the only ones that come close to being spicy enough for me, but they try to shortcut by adding unnecessary amounts of vinegar. I have the same issues with Tobasco and most other vinegar-based sauces.atxgun wrote:Off topic of carrying, on topic of pluckers: Really!? I hate vinegar hot sauce, can't stand Tabasco. If you're a fan of good hot sauces, try the Habanero sauce at Freebirds, which is also not posted, btw. (gotta keep the thread on topic!)
I like Pluckers. I don't think they are a 51% establishment, since they do so much business at lunch, including take-out and delivery business. Pretty good wings. Sometimes they have an off day, but they will fix the order if you ask them to.
There is a sauce that my friend worked with the chef to have them make up especially for him. It is very good. It's called "Baker's Gold". It's an orange-colored sauce that is kind of like a mixture of a litte bit BBQ sauce combined with Louisiana-cayenne-pepper-vinegar hot sauce. I think they may only have it at the campus/central location, but it wouldn't hurt to ask at the other locations.
