Most common pistol platform among forum members?

There are a lot of choices out there. From 100+ year old designs to ultra high tech. I am curious about the fine members of this forums' choice of weaponry.

I alternate between 1911's, Sig's, revolvers and plastic wonder pistols but if I had to choose one over all others it'd be a 1911. The main reason is that the 1911 platform is what I consistently shoot the best.

Mine will soon be a Bersa 380 Thunder once I finish testing it for carry. So far no problems.

1911 here. Either my Full size Springfield or the 3 " Kimber. After Christmas a Kel-tec P3AT will be added to the mix.

Ruger KP97DC for me, for now. Sometimes a Makarov. I'd like to add a P3AT, and I'd REALLY like to add a Para Night Hawg or Warthog.

I carry a variety of guns but they all have the same general manual of arms - - - point and shoot - - - I don't carry any handgun that has to be carried cocked and locked. I own and shoot 1911 pattern pistols but, they are range guns, not social guns. It's just to eliminate one more thing Murphy has to mess with.

Are you worried you might to forget to safety off in case you need to defend yourself?

I routinely carry several different platforms, including 1911's, DAO semi's, DA revolver. It all depends on the attire and the activities for the day. The one thing I'm never without is my little DAO .32 back-up, for which there is always room. The 1911 might not fit, but the Kel-Tech always will.......

It's like golf, you can't play 18 holes with one club! I like my SIGs but they are the biggest and the heaviest guns I own. I carry one when I can. My Glock 33 gets a lot more fresh air than the SIG does. The old KEL-TEC P11 and P32, one or both are almost always along for the ride.
P11= 14 oz.
P32 = 7 oz.
G33 = 19.75 oz.
P229 = 32 oz. That's unloaded weights!

I would prefere to carry two guns, instead of one gun + a spare mag. I've heard that called " A New York Reload" ????
As you can see P11 and P32 are about equal in weight to the G33 and the G33 and one of the KTs are about equal to the P229. But if I think it is necessary I haul the P229 & G33 at the same time. (both chambered for 357 SIG) That is a load!!

Not worried about forgetting but, it's one less thing to do while trying to stay alive. I believe in the KISS principle

I have a couple of friends that are like Mojo and carry guns with the same manual of arms. Thier reasoning is that it helps to eliminate Murphy from the equation.

Beretta Cougar L or Tomcat. I've got others, but they're mostly range guns. Sometimes a Walther P22 (for snakes or whatever) if i'm hunting.

I have the good ol 3" XD in 9mm as a carry gun. It's great, a little white when compared to a double stack but it conceals well IWB.

Fair enough. I was worried about that too when I decided to switch to the 1911 platform a couple of years ago.

Training makes the difference, I believe. I have been to quite a few schools where we are under stress and time. Have not had an issue with that, but I also work a a range and get to shoot a couple of hundred rounds a week. ;)

NY reload = taking out a second gun of your own when your own has run dry (you called it, OE)

Rio reload = picking up and using your fallen adversary's gun on his (still hostile/engaged in the fight) buddies after your own has run dry
