A city worker told me I couldn't but I got the impression he didn't know. This was for the Barton Creek Wilderness area. Isn't there preemption in the law saying that no municipality can override state law, and the lower coloardo watershed authority cannot regulate eitehr?

I work on the greenbelt and enjoy it quite frequently... you are legal to carry there.

In my experience, Austin city workers are often ignorant of or confused about city regulations, policies, and state laws. I would not consider advice from one of them as reliable unless you see it confirmed in writing on an official document.

Way to stereotype an entire workforce based upon your experience with relatively few individuals. If they're not posted 30.06, then you can carry. If the property is city property, then you can carry even if it is 30.06. posted.
