Long time lurker on the thread...first time poster. Hope I'm in the right area. Will be taking my class tomorrow (05/16) at DFWGuns in Dallas. I've learned a lot already on this forum and am sure more will follow in training tomorrow. I'm very experienced with my own firearm (Springfield XD 45 ACP) as well as numerous others from 8 yrs in the US Army. However...for those of you who are what I will be very soon...what else should I know about the training? Any pointers?
Thanks for letting me lurk and I look forward to entering the Waiting Room soon!

Welcome officially TexDotCom!
Well, since you will have a couple of three months after the class to wait on the license, I would suggest finding a concealed carry holster you like and practice carrying around the house, and possibly while in the car under the MPA (just make sure you don't get out with it on except at home!!

). That way when the license comes and you can legally carry other places, then you will be a lot more comfortable wearing it.

Thanks for the reply, Keith B. I've been looking at holsters and belts and reading A LOT of reviews. I'm thinking I'll probably try out a CrossBreed SuperTuck Deluxe or the Texas Heritage IWB from Tucker Gun Leather. I'm OCD and do *a lot* of research about all the little details before purchasing...especially something so expensive. :)
